It was quite a whirlwind getting ready for Zac's birthday. Five days before the big day and 4 days before a bunch of little pirates invaded our house for a party, my dad had a heart attack. The world and all thoughts of party planning stopped. Thankfully, my dad was released from the hospital and though not able to eat any cake, was able to celebrate with us.

Mother's Day Musical
On Mother's day the kids of our church (about 20 of them, age 4-6th grade) performed the musical "God of this City" during the worship hour at church. they all did a fantastic job! Thomas, our child who is always seeking the spot light, had the role of "Zack" and not surprisingly shined in his role. Zac and Kelsey may have chosen to not sing all the songs but they did all the hand motions :)

Swimming Lessons
Last spring both boys were in little league baseball. The schedule about killed Jerry and I, and by the third game into the season the boys were bored. We stuck it out, gotta teach the kids sticking to your commitments and all that. SOOO, this spring no baseball! Swimming lessons! The kids all showed improvement from the first lesson to the last. Thomas can float on his back quite well and loves to do "pencil dives" off the diving board in the deep end of the pool. Zachary also improved on being able to float and is working on learning the crawl stroke. Kelsey. Unlike her brothers Kelsey did not take baby swim lessons at 2 years old. This was a mistake. She had to be coaxed by her teacher at every lesson to jump into the 3 ft deep kiddie pool. Kelsey did enjoy kicking and splashing, and would put her face in the water for 1/2 a second. Notice the picture of the little slide on the side of the kiddie pool? See Kelsey in the picture? NOPE! See the picture of her "ARE YOU KIDDING ME MOM?" look? Going down the slide was not going to happen. Despite this Kelsey had fun and said that she enjoyed swimming lessons.

Birthdays!
Saturday, April 27, 2013
Thomas is 10 years old!
Thomas' birthday this year fell on Easter, which meant Easter fun AND birthday fun all in the same weekend = tired parents! The next time Thomas' birthday is on Easter he will be turning 21, pretty sure he won't want his mom putting together an Avengers superhero themed party for him that year...So the birthday / Easter weekend started out with an egg hunt Saturday morning followed by a Avengers super hero themed birthday party with Thomas' friends at the local bowling ally. Then, Easter Sunday Resurrection celebration at church, followed by Easter dinner at my parents house. Then we shifted back into birthday mode with cake, presents and a pinata!

Two Christmas'
We spent Christmas #1 in Moses Lake with Jerry's family, the kids cousin's Vincent and Cameron (along with their parents) were there as well, making Christmas extra fun. It also snowed on Christmas morning, quite a site for these kids from western Washington :) Christmas # 2 was spent in Centralia with my parents, sister Leanna, bro-in -law Jory and their 4 kids. We didn't have snow, but we had lots of fun and laughter.
Kid Christmas programs
S L O W L E Y getting caught up on the Blog... All 3 kids had Christmas program at school. Kelsey's was an angel in hers, she was worried that she would, "be picked to be Mary, I want to be an angel cuz they wear sparkles in their hair!" Zac's first grade class sang "The Holly and the Ivy". Thomas' class (which is larger than it appears in the photo, some students are missing) sang a nice Christmas song but none of us can remember what it was! Saturday, March 9, 2013
Kelsey's 5th birthday
The evening before Kelsey's 5th birthday we put all of her sippy cups on the counter, the next morning the "sippy cup fairy" had replaced them with a princess mug just for Kelsey!
